December at The Freewheel Event / Freewheel / News

This month is Dickens December with our Friday Night Films. We’ve already seen Great Expectations, the 1946 classic from David Lean with John Mills and Alec Guiness and the 2013 “The Invisible Woman”.  These are followed by the 2002 version Nicholas Nickleby with a star studded cast including Jamie Bell, Christopher Plummer, Tom Courtenay, Anne Hathaway, Jim Broadbent, Juliet Stevenson, Edward Fox, Barry Humphries, Timothy Spall and Alan Cumming. For Christmas we’re showing Scrooge, the 1951 film of A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim. Then at the end of the year we finish with Scrooged, the 80s take on A Christmas Carol with Bill Murray.

To join our regular weekly activities we’re launching a Killer Darts Competition every Tuesday evening at 7pm. Come along and test your skills.

As ever we have live music in December. We have a Christmas Open Mic evening on Saturday 24th. On Thursday 22 December we’ll be singing Carols at The Freewheel. And to get warmed up for the New Year we’ve got Christmas Karaoke on Thursday 29th.

Tickets are now on sale for our Swing in The New Year Party. The price is £7.50 and includes a finger buffet and midnight glass of fizz.

On Christmas Day we will be open between 12 & 2pm. It would be great to see you.

And finally… we’ve got a little Christmas Shop selling all sorts of local goodies.

Thank you for your support this year. If there’s things you’d like to see at The Freewheel, things you’d like to do there, then let us know.
